California Grand Lodge Project - Raising A Reader
California Grand Lodge’s project, Raising A Reader will provide critical literacy skills for-at-risk children in California. Children, who can’t read, can’t learn and early literacy for those who need it most kindergarteners in the lowest-performing public school across the state.
Raising A Reader fits perfectly within our 2010-2015 Strategic Plan. It will enable California Masonry to continue to be relative and meaningful in our communities.
Our partnership with Raising A Reader and the California Masonic Foundation will circulate children’s books to homes, engage families in shared reading of those books, and help thousands of children develop reading readiness skills. Raising A Reader is an organization with considerable expertise, a proven track record, and measurable success with their program. I am sure that you will hear more about them and the good our fraternity is doing for children.
Happy New Year Brothers and Sisters! We are off to a great start with our new core of officers with fresh plans and ideas. January meetings will be on the 10th & 24th (Junior Night). Last year’s officers will do the work for one last time to see if they can remember it.
Come on out to our meetings, meet a friend and make a new one.
